## Notes
hey buddy-- I sent this to someone the other day.
Rooftop Bars
- Cindy’s - really great view and good cocktails. (Also, you can check out the “bean” as it is super close by. (Bean is a good tourist spot)
- Signature room – great view, good cocktails, it great for the value and very attractive tourist spot
- London House – Also great drinks a nice area to be in.
- The Godfrey
- The Wit
Restaurants
- Fig and Olive – really nice area and walkable from Signature room (rooftop bar)
- Right around Fig and Olive (There is also Lou Manaltis on Rush and Division and Giordano’s for Chicago Deep dish pizza)
- Pizzeria Portofino - is also nice and on the River for pizza
- Smith and Wollensky’s - is a classic Chicago, steakhouse on the river right next to Pizzaria portifino
- Kindling – since you might go to Willis Tower, this was surprisingly really nice place. This is very new.
If you go to west loop where there are tons of restaurants and nice to walk around (all restaurants are great here – it’s becoming Chicago’s restaurant district..
- Aba – Mediterranean
- Lyra – Greek
- Au Chavul – nice burgers but 1.5-3 hr. wait usually – we generally put our name down and grab drinks around the area and come back.
- Parlor Pizza
- Rooh – if you like Indian food
- Federales – west loop and has Mexican food
- Girl and the goat - is very famous, but I suggest make reservations (little goat is their sister restaurant right across the street and much more casual)
From Cole, one of my AEs
Sam’s list has some of my Chicago favorites.
Another really good way to see everything in Chicago big bus tours which is an open air bus that drives to all major tourist sites in Chicago and it’s narrated. It’s like the architecture tour on land. If it’s nice outside though definitely would suggest the architecture tour.
Cindy’s rooftop is a tourist staple because it overlooks millennium / grant park and the water. They could do the bean, then go there to see the rest of the park from above.
Food wise id certainly suggest they find a place for deep dish pizza since they’re tourists, my favorite is Pequod’s in Lincoln Park, but any Lou Malnati’s chain spot is also good.
Au Cheval is amazing, but the wait is really long, I’d suggest small cheval in old town one day for lunch, it’s their little brother location.
Also would suggest any steakhouse in river north as we are known for High end steakhouses. My favorite is steak48, but Chicago cut, Smith & Wollensky’s, RPM, are all good options.
Pizzeria Portofino is a great spot for good food and river views as well.
